Eden Chicago Wedding Photography | Alex & Fernanda

Eden Chicago Wedding Photography

Last month I had the privilege of photographing Alex & Fernanda’s wedding reception in Chicago. They were married a few weeks before in Vegas and wanted to have a special intimate celebration with their close friends and family. It may have been one of the hottest days of the year, but we still had a fantastic time wandering around Buckingham Fountain, the Chicago Board of Trade, and under the L on Lake Street right outside of their venue for photos. It was such an honor to document Fernanda & Alex connecting with friends and family who traveled from as far as Mexico to celebrate them!

Fernanda’s sister, Valentina, owns a linen company, and she did all of the design & planning for Alex & Fernanda’s day, and I have to say, it was incredible. All of the decor was out of this world, and the day was so smooth. I know that Valentina, Alex & Fernanda’s family, and the teams at Lola Valentina and Eden all worked so hard behind the scenes to make Alex & Valentina’s day a dream (shout out to Ramsey Prince for creating some of the most beautiful florals I’ve ever seen)!

And now on to some pictures as well as some words from Fernanda!

The Dress:

I found my dress in Glamour Closet Chicago. It was the first dress I tried on and the only one that we all loved. Our wedding was not traditional and was planned within a month and a half. My earrings are Mapuche and were shipped to me by my father. I wanted to represent my birthplace, Chile.

How they met:

We met when we were both kids. It was the summer of 2003, I had just moved across the street from Alex's house and next to his grandmother’s house. Since school had not started my mother got tired of me whining about being bored. My mother dragged me next door where she saw two little girls playing. It was Alex's sister (Daniella) and his cousin. From that day on Daniella and I were inseparable. I would spend summers with Alex's family we were always told how cute we would be together but we always chuckled and laughed it off. After a couple years I stopped seeing Alex so often since we hung out with different crowds and he went to University. I threw a New Years Party after moving back from L.A at my apartment. We started talking and got engaged 4 years later.

The Venue:

The venue was shown to us by my sister. It was 1 out of 2 that we saw and automatically loved it. It was perfect for us.
