Jamie & Andrew : Chicago, IL Courthouse Wedding

When Seth and I got married back in 2004, weddings were completely different than they are today.  Things back then were much more traditional, and not only that, I think I had been to a grand total of one wedding before I started planning my own, so my ideas about weddings in general were limited.  I'm so jealous of people getting married these days with all of the creative ideas that are available (um, hello, Pinterest!!), and I'm always encouraging couples to celebrate the uniqueness of their relationship through their wedding.

Jamie and Andrew's Chicago Courthouse wedding was another example to me of how a couple can make their day unique to who they are.  And if anything, it reinforced to me that above all, the most important parts of a wedding are the two people standing there pledging their love for one another.  No fancy detail, grand reception hall, or flowing white gown covered in lace can change the significance of that moment.

Now, onto the pictures. :)

Aaaaand this was the moment that I realized I left my camera backpack in the judge's chambers with 5 minutes until the courthouse closed.  Andrew dashed off without hesitation and made it just in time!!  You got a good one, Jamie. ;)  Oh, and also, you're freaking gorgeous.

He doesn't even look winded after sprinting to get my bag!

It was hard to pick, but this one's my favorite, and there's a good story to go along with it. We paused while crossing the street to get this shot (we had the walk sign so no lives were risked!) and when we were finished, some kid was behind me taking a picture of us with his cellphone!  My theory is that because Jamie and Andrew looked so fabulous and because I had two professional cameras around my neck, he thought they were famous.  So we're probably out there in someone's Instagram feed. ;)
